Trouble in engine which damaged parts.

This is a series of trouble shooting technique for the track machine working in indian Railway. When you study with this you able to rectify a fault of machine. If this is helpful for you than share with others. It may helps them. Thanks in advance for sharing.
Now first we start with engine model number TBD 232V12
5) fault :- Engine running too hot.
Probable cause and remedial action
A) Coolant level to low.Check coolant level and top up with coolant up to the mark in the filler neck.
B) Defective thermostat.Check thermostat as in the following steps:-
a) Drain cooling water and catch it for reuse.
b) Loosen hose clamps, pull back hoses and then remove thermostat.
c) Heat water in container to approx. 85°C and place thermostat in it. Maintain temperature of water by agitating.
d) By short circuiting and radiator opening, Check whether the thermostat opens fully. If not, call in service engineer to fit new thermostat.
Or,
Alternatively check temperature of coolant in radiator for functioning of thermostat.
C) Defective water pump.
Call the service engineer to check or repair water pump.
D) V-belt for water pump need adjustment. Remove v-belt guard and check v-belt tension. To adjust release take-up pulley mount of generator and regulate tension in the belt. Then tighten the take-up pulley. If required, replaced the v-belt.
E) Oil cooler properly not working.Call service engineer for repair or replacement of oil cooler.
F) Valve clearance is not proper.
To check Valve clearance, and adjust the clearance follow these steps:-
a) Un-screw bolts and remove cylinder cover.
b) Crank engine until the inlet valve closed then turn approx (1/2) half turn further.
c) The feeler gauge should pass between the valve cone end and the rocker lever with suction.
d) If the valve clearance need resetting loosen lock nut and readjust by means of the set screw.
e) Tighten lock nut and recheck valve clearances.
f) Renew gasket, sealing ring and fit cylinder head cover.
G) Air filter is choked.Clean the air filter.
H) RPM of coolant fan is too low.Adjust RPM of the motor to 1650. Check hydraulic system and change pump and motor if necessary.
I) Water radiator chocked.Get radiator cleaned in workshop.
J) Radiator cap missing or worn out.Fit new cap.
K) Water hose too old.Replace water hose.
